Designing a cover from your 3D model or an on-site Transcan™ provides the most accurate and fastest way to an approved cover

Though adjustments can still be made to proto covers during the fitting process, starting with models or a scan allows for a far more accurate initial cover design and feature placement at the first stage of the design process. This results in less iterations and faster time-to-approval of your cover.

You can export from your 3D Software in multiple formats. Please export your object and then re-import it to check that it is correct. We often get models that were not exported correctly. Please choose one of the file types below. We can also use your raw files if you are unable to export properly.

PREFERRED 3D EXPORT FORMATS:                     RAW FORMATS:
IGS, STEP                                                                         Solidworks, 3DS Max, Rhino

PROVIDING 3D FILES MEANS A BETTER FITTING COVER

COVERS FOR SIMPLE SHAPES CAN BE MADE FROM 2D/CAD DRAWINGS

For more simple shapes such as boxes and items with little contour, covers can be made from your 2D CAD Drawings, though 3D files are preferred

We can design simple covers using most standard 2D drawing file types. For contoured covers, 2D Files provide a far less accurate starting point to design your cover and will extend your time to an approved cover.   Files must be to scale!

PREFERRED 2D FILE FORMATS:
JPG, PDF, AI, EPS, DWG
Please make sure there are measurements on the drawings you submit so that we can properly scale them into our modeling software.

SAMPLE IMAGES:
Providing sample images of the actual object in shipping form is very helpful. Often times the final item varies from the model which will slow down your time to an approved cover.

On-Site Scanning

Using state-of-the-art laser scanning technology, we capture your object in 3D to the accuracy of less than a millimeter

This process takes around 15 minutes per object depending on the complexity

*An on-site visit is needed which requires travel and can extend lead times
